My name is Therese Newman. I have been a private piano teacher for 25 years, teaching piano, theory and musicianship.
Several years ago due to personal tragedy I decided to become a Marriage Celebrant to bring joy back into my life, by meeting the needs of others who were about to experience one of the happiest days in their lives… their wedding day.
I am professional, yet friendly and approachable with many years experience in public speaking, a founding member of the Newcastle Speakers Club, and a experienced debating and public speaking adjudicator.
It brings me great pleasure to meet with you as a couple, become acquainted with you, and listen to your needs and desires for your wedding day. I offer advice and suggestions for a personalised wedding ceremony; I also explain the legal requirements and answer any questions that you may have.

I am assisted by my husband Brian, who operates the battery-powered radio microphone Public Address System (ensuring that your guests hear the ceremony) and who plays any CDs or mp3s required by you.
I offer a decoratively covered table and chair for the signing of the marriage Register and present you with a Presentation Marriage Certificate and a personal copy of the marriage ceremony as a keepsake.
